| The second annual SPLASH OF COLOR BOER GOAT SALE was held on April 9, 2011 at the Middle Tennesse State University Livestock Center. The sale started at 1:00PM Central Time. There were 14 cosigners from South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Virginia. The sale will was carried by EDJECAST for online bidding. Viewing of all lots will started at 4:00PM on Friday, April 8, 2011. All lots in the sale had to be red, black, paint or spotted. So if you ware looking for colored goats this was the sale for you. There was also a Grooming for Show seminar presented by Eric McLeymore on Friday night. Eric is an artist with a set of clippers. Everyone was very pleased with the sale this year and are looking forward to next year. There were about 92 registered bidders on line at the time that the sale started and that seemed to go real well. The bleachers at the sale ring was full and many had chairs on the floor. The sale moved along very smoothly and the prices were strong and consistant. A total of 116 lots were sold for over $125,000 with a sale average of $1,083.00. The animals sold in the sale went to several states including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin. The consigners again this year provided drinks and snacks for the public and that again was a big hit. We think that next years sale will be even bigger and better and the cosigners were already talking about what they were planning to bring next year. There were some great reds and paints and the blacks did well. The favorite seemed to be the dappled ones and the percentages and fullblood both did well. So stay tuned to the sale next year and I'm sure it will be even bigger and better than this year.
